Upon request per Amber, I've decided to show you a poem I jotted down earlier. I don't really post poems here. Most "poems" I have in the past I don't consider real poetry. The one about my sister, yes that one was real. I like the rhythm and rhyme aspects of it. Without those I think my poetry isn't anything grand. So enjoy.
Two Part Path
Charmed was she at twenty-three,
With the winding two part path.
She looked around, heard not a sound,
Nor was there a soul to be seen.
She thought to herself, about fame and pelf,
And wondered what life was about.
She looked to her left, would she be bereft?
Perhaps she should choose the other.
Look to the right, is it worth the fight?
Of struggling and toiling so.
To make a choice, but to have a voice!
Is all she really wanted.
A path so clear, on which to steer,
She was having trouble deciding
To hold on to, what's trite and true,
Or to embark on an adventure so new?
She struggled and toiled, and how she recoiled,
To think of a life wasted.
To live out earnest, her heart did turnest,
Of the longing and desire inside.
Which path to take, which wouldn't break,
Her dreams, passions, and longings?
If she only knew, what to do,
On this crossroad here in her life.
To think with strife of this miserable life,
Wondering what would come next.
She didn't know, how to row,
And steer this monstrous ship of hers.
To sail into, the beautiful blue,
And have a storm come and wash her away.
The choice is now, to fate you must bow,
To choose one and forsake the other.
With a path so hazy, don't be lazy,
Decipher the signs you see.
Look there and look here, Be sure to show no fear,
To the threatening world to come.
Hold your head high, don't ever deny
Yourself of the wisdom up above.
Enjoy your youth, but hold fast to truth,
For life with our either is lost.
Stand here a while, let your thoughts compile,
Sort through them with tender care.
Life beckons on, it soon is gone,
So tell me... What is the choice you make?
With the winding two part path.
She looked around, heard not a sound,
Nor was there a soul to be seen.
She thought to herself, about fame and pelf,
And wondered what life was about.
