As I sat furiously reading these seemingly never ending documents from my history book I stumbled upon this:
"Many are accusing the Legislative Body as the Source of all those woful Calamities. - These, it must be confessed, are the instrumental Cause; they can, yea do impose some of these heavy Burdens. - But whence received they this Power? Is not their Power delegated from the Populace? The original Cause is our own blind stupid Conduct." (Emphasis mine)
Spoken in the 1700's and yet it still rings true today. How many ignorant people cast their vote each year towards a politician they know nothing about? I'll be 18 and ready to vote this year. Some of my family are very informed on politics. I've never been too interested. But since I'm to vote I don't want to be blind and stupid. It would be easy to just agree with everything that my parents say, but I don't. Generally but not always. Instead I choose to ask questions and gain information and form my own opinions about everything going on politically. I'll never fully get it, but that's ok. I've become deeply distressed as I've begun digging up and researching a few of these men who one of them will lead our country. No one is perfect. But even my trusted ole republicans aren't what they used to be. Huckabee for example, every baptist friend of mine ardently supports him, why? Many do simply because he is professing believer in Christ. Men are fallible. Look at Bush, he started out so strong. Even more than that I'm not a fan of his tax plan. It seems off to me. Sure he would cut some big spending, but I'm not so sure his "Fair tax" plan is plausible. What scares me more are the ones like Hillary. She's carefully shied away from her leftists ideas and beliefs in order to center out and gain more support. She's wanted this since she was young. I read a book about her and her lying self. She will stop at nothing to get this. McCain is a running republican and supports the war, but even though I haven't delved deeper into his political ideas, I do know he's a bit more liberal. Obama is a bit more obscure. Is this true? How can such allegations go without the media scrambling all over this? Yet they make an issue of McCain and a POSSIBLE affair he had 10 years ago? Please. The media will do what the media wants. I don't care that Obama is the first black guy running. Good for him! I'm not judging his color of skin. I'm just wondering why he hasn't done something about this. I've got some issues with him. But not as much as Hillary. And what about Mrs. Obama? She said, "For the first time in my adult life I'm proud of my country." Excuse me? Then when McCain's wife made a comment (I can't remember the direct quote) I'm proud of my country and always have been. The media had a field day about that one! They questioned her relentlessly asking if that was an attack directed to Obama's wife. I repeat... Excuse me?! One woman proclaimed pride her whole life for her beloved country, the other is admitting she has never been proud until he husband is running. Who did they attack? Why? Would you want such a woman as your first lady representing us? I'd think twice about that one if I were you. Sorry about the little political rant. I really am not too terribly informed, but I want to really get into this stuff before I vote. I want to know why I'm voting for who I'm voting for. I don't want someone to say "Vote for them" and blindly follow. My vote is but one, but a vote wasted is irresponsible on my part as a young citizen. I generally am not a fan of democrats because they stand behind homosexuality and abortion. More abortion. We have killed over 50 million young lives through abortion in this country, the holocaust was only 6 million. What are we becoming? How can you shout about how terrible a war is over in Iraq and kill a baby who has no voice to be heard? It's sickening.
Ok political rant for real over. Gah I wish I knew more about everything in the world. At times I feel like an ignorant teen with absolutely no grasp on any of this. I tend to keep my opinion to myself on such issues only because I think it's ridiculous to raise your fist for a cause you know little about. Unless my knowledge can at least back my opinion I wont proclaim it on mountaintops.
All this because I was studying history real fast to hurry and get to bed (and I stayed up typing this instead ha).
Our country is the way it is due to the leadership, and in turn the citizens who put them in office. The leaders reflect the general population. How are we looking?
Ps. AH! A major issue is the economy. I didn't even touch that. I need to rant about my views on this on a later post... this is just a mental note to self.

That video was, interesting, to say the least. But as I was watching I couldn't help but think how timely this video is. While I'm not screaming conspiracy theory here, all I'm saying is that it is notable that this man came out with these allegations when he did. Furthermore, him appealing to the public is a political ploy, and his lines looked scripted. As for the polygraph tests, that is just an appeal to the "truth machines" in order to provide credibility to his words. The truth is neither Sinclair nor Obama will be submitted to a polygraph for this, but Sinclair asking for one just adds weight to his argument.
