So since my life has gradually just gotten busier, I've found less and less time to read. That is madness. Reading is one the absolute best things in this world. Why, the written word is beyond compare to anything else. Words have the power to persuade someone to abandon their beliefs, strengthen beliefs, cause a few tears or laughter here and there, the possibilities are limitless. To not have time to read is quite depressing. Of course thankfully I'm a big nerd and I love all the reading assignments I get in school so I'm not missing out too badly. But that's educational, sometimes I want the fiction, the Ted Dekker stuff, and yet other times I want to read Charles Dickens and drive myself mad at the man's genius and skill.
I have come up with a solution. I'm going to read one book a week. Seriously. Now some books are slow and it takes FOREVER to plow your way through them, even if they are good. Well I'm generally a really fast reader, but just in case I'll extend this to two weeks at times. Some books I read in one day. I read three books in one week. I'm talking thick makes those lazy non readers want to puke because of how immensely long they are books. The good kind. But the shorts like Gatsby are great too. (haha The Great Gatsby.. get it? Ok I thought it was funny. And I didn't even do that on purpose.)
But this is all beside the point. I have a few different running lists of what I want to read. I'll compile them all into ONE great big list. I'll have no set order, just choose one for the week. I guess it will depend on if the library has it or not. (Currently I'm waiting for Breakfast of Champions to arrive at Cy-fair's library... I'll be the first to read it. Awesome a NEW library book that has never been opened.) But I'll eventually post my list here. Maybe I'll add it in later tonight.
So there you have it. Starting this Monday I'll read a book a week. I might even do a post on the last day saying whether or not I liked it.
Books. The love of my life.
And you, my fantastically loyal reader, can give me suggestions to add to my list. (Amber a few of the books you lent me are going on the list as well.)
This should be fun.
